Rear-end collision leaves one dead, two injured.

One man was killed and two others injured last night after an SUV rear-ended a light motor vehicle on the N2/N3 split in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found the SUV lying on its side while the light motor vehicle had come to stop a short distance away.

Upon inspection, paramedics found the male driver of the SUV lying some distance away from his vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.

Two other patients from the light motor vehicle, a man and woman, were assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. They were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

the cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
